Hideaki Nishino, Sony’s Senior Vice President, Platform Planning, has announced next generation VR controller for PS5 on company’s blog. The next gen VR controller promises greater immersion and moveability for players.
The innovation of the controllers stems from the product design of DualSense wireless controller, which revolutionized how games feel. In the blog, Hideaki Nishino has greatly written about the design and the feature of the controller.
From the design aspect, the PS5 VR controller looks like an orb, create more room for players to handle the controller naturally. Keeping in mind the ergonomics and comfortability, Sony’s next-gen VR controller would allow seamless gaming experience.
Here are some of the features of the PS5 VR controller:
Adaptive Trigger: The functionality is similar to the DUALSENSE controller, where both the controllers would induce real-life effects to heighten immersion. For example, the tension that you feel while stretching the bow to fire an arrow.
Tracking: The controllers will be tracked by the new PS5 VR headset.
Haptic Feedback: Haptic Feedback combined with Adaptive Trigger would be a game changer. It would help in blurring the real and the virtual world.
Hideaki highlights that Sony Interactive Entertainment’s Engineering and Design came together to build such an exceptional product which would change the way we interact with objects virtually.
